AVERMEDIA ® CONTRIBUTES TO FURTHERING AIDS RESEARCH BY PARTICIPATING IN THE 20TH ANNUAL AIDS WALK

MILPITAS, CA - (July 17 , 2006) –
AVerMedia ® Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of digital multimedia and presentation technology recently took part in helping combat the AIDS epidemic by joining the 20th Annual AIDS Walk in San Francisco, Sunday, July 16, 2006. As California’s largest AIDS fundraising event, AVerMedia decided to contribute its time by raising funds, demonstrating commitment, and displaying support to the cause. There are over one million people living in the United States that are infected with HIV and every year there are 40,000 new infections. Organizations such as The San Francisco AIDS Foundation not only contribute to raising funds in the fight of the virus, but it also maintains prevention and treatment programs, as well as international services.
While last year’s walk raised over $3.6 million, this year’ event raised over $3.7 million! This year’s AIDS Walk consisted of over 25,000 individuals, including more than 20 AVerMedia employees, friends and family members who contributed their time and money to help make a difference in the lives of people living with and affected by HIV. AVerMedia Technologies matched the money raised by the employee participants, adding to the overall total.
