AVerMedia awarded environmentally friendly ISO certification for “green” manufacturing practices

MILPITAS, CA - (December 1, 2005) – AVerMedia® Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of digital multimedia and presentation technology announced today that its manufacturing facilities have been awarded the ISO 14001:2004 certification. After taking a series of strict authentications and audits, AVerMedia has obtained the latest certificate of ISO 14001:2004, meaning all processes including design, procurement, production, marketing and service from AVerMedia are in accordance with not only the RoHS directive but also environmentally green product systems.
To meet the European Union and other organization’s requirements with regards to environmental protection, the first step of AVerMedia is to produce “green” products. AVerMedia also follows European Union’s regulations, “Waste electrical and electronic equipment, WEEE” and “Restriction of Hazardous Substances, RoHS”. Moreover, starting in January 2006, all AVerMedia’s products will meet the RoHS requirements, almost six months ahead of the European Union’s requirements.
AVerMedia’s business model is not simply about selling products or services to its customers, focuses to minimize potentially harmful effects on the environment caused by the manufacturing process. The European Union, North American and Japanese governments have proposed relevant environmental requests successively to aid in environmental protection. As a manufacturer, AVerMedia has the obligation to ensure its process of production is in accordance with security and environmental protection guidelines.
