AVERMEDIA® SCORES CES ‘HAT TRICK’ WITH THREE INNOVATIONS 2004 DESIGN & ENGINEERING SHOWCASE AWARDS
AVerMedia TVBox™ 9 Given Honoree Nod in Consumer Electronics Category; AVerMedia UltraTV™ USB 300, AVerMedia DVD EZMaker™ Pro USB2.0 Honored in Computer Hardware Segment at International CES
MILPITAS, CA - (December 15, 2003) – AVerMedia® Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of digital multimedia video convergence technology, today announced that three of its newest products—TVBox 9, UltraTV USB 300, and DVD EZMaker Pro USB2.0—have been honored with Innovations 2004 Design and Engineering Showcase awards from the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow. AVerMedia’s product honorees will be included in the prestigious Innovations 2004 Silver Exhibit at the 2004 International CES, January 8-11, 2004 in Las Vegas.
Since 1989, the Innovations Design and Engineering Awards Showcase has given consumer technology manufacturers and developers an opportunity to have their newest products judged by a preeminent panel of industry designers, engineers and journalists. AVerMedia’s three honorees for 2004 met the judges’ stringent criteria for user value, aesthetics, contributions to the quality of life, and innovative design and qualities.
The three AVerMedia honorees and their major features are as follows:
· AVerMedia TVBox 9 External TV Device—TVBox 9 turns any LCD or other VGA-compatible monitor or projector into a TV/multimedia center with plug-and-play convenience without having to connect it to a PC. The small, but sleek 3.6” x 3.48” x 0.69” external unit can be used on both notebooks and desktop PCs, and offers a full range of Personal Video Recorder (PVR) features including instant replay, recording scheduler, live TV/camcorder/VHS video capture and much more. Video editing and real-time DVD/CD burner software included.
· AVerMedia DVD EZMaker Pro USB2.0 Video Capture Device —This highly portable external unit allows users to convert old VHS video to DVD via any current notebook or desktop PC, using ultra-fast USB 2.0 technology. The plug-n-play device includes a built-in hardware MPEG2 encoder, as well as Ulead’s DVD MovieFactory™ 2 SE and VideoStudio™ 7 SE DVD to author, edit and burn TV shows into DVDs.
Both UltraTV USB 300 and DVD EZMaker Pro USB were accepted in the Computer Hardware category of the Innovations 2004 Design and Engineering Showcase; TVBox 9 was honored in the Personal Electronics segment. The awards cover 20 product categories in all.
