Submit a full, written lesson plan relating to one of the following subjects while integrating the use of a document camera into the lesson plan itself:

Mathematics
Science
History / Social Studies
English / Language Arts
Art / Music
Other

Lesson plans must include a document camera as the primary demonstration tool in the lesson itself, and be directly related to one of the above subjects. Integrating document cameras with other technologies may also be described (e.g. interactive whiteboards, automated response systems, computers, etc).

One Grand Prize will be awarded for each of the above subjects: $1,000 to be used for additional classroom technology, and a new AVerVision CP300 document camera Contest Submission Guidelines

Contest Submission Guidelines

You will first need to register. Once registered, upload your lesson plan in either MS Word or PDF format, then submit.

Your lesson plan should include at least the following information:

  • Relevant Subject (Math, English, etc)
  • Grade Level lesson is designed for
  • Topic of the lesson / demonstration
  • Actual lesson plan
  • How a document camera is used in the lesson / demonstration
  • Other technologies used with, or in conjunction with a document camera

Lesson plans should only cover one topic or demonstration, and relate to a specific grade level and subject. Pictures and illustrations included with the lesson plan are welcome, but must be imbedded in the document submitted. Lesson plans will be judged based upon originality, helpfulness, effectiveness, and creativity.

Only one entry per teacher, administrator or classroom please. Contest open to United States classrooms only.

Lesson Plans can be submitted between January 25, 2008 and April 18, 2008. Winners will be notified by May 2, 2008.

Winning lesson plans will be posted on the www.avermedia-usa.com website.

All lesson plan submissions may be displayed on the AVerMedia-USA website, and be made available as a resource for other teachers and educators. Lesson plan content may also be used in AVerMedia teacher marketing material including, but not limited to: www.avermedia-usa.com website, product training and promotional videos, tradeshow promotions, and more. AVerMedia may also request video or photographs be filmed of lesson plans following the contest. Participants who agree to partake in video or photographs will be asked to sign a consent-release form allowing AVerMedia to use the content in the above Marketing Activities. For participants under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian will be asked to sign the form.

All submitted lesson plans become the property of AVerMedia Technologies, Inc. By submitting your lesson plan, you release all rights to any written content sent to AVerMedia for this contest and fully authorize the use of the material to be available as a resource and in future marketing material such as www.avermedia-usa.com website, product training and promotional videos, tradeshow promotions, and more.

No purchase required for entry. Only one lesson plan will be accepted for consideration per classroom.

Prizes will be shipped within 30 days after the winners are announced. AVerMedia reserves the right to determine winning entries in its sole and absolute discretion.

Official Rules

  • Entries must be fully completed or may be void
  • Only one file can be uploaded per entry
  • Entrants agree to be bound by the official rules
  • Prizes unclaimed within three months after the close of the contest will be awarded to the next runner up
  • Entrants must be 18 years old or older, void where prohibited by law
  • Participants may request official rules by mail
  • AVerMedia is not responsible for lost entries or injuries sustained from prizes
  • Winners list will be provided following the close of the contest
  • Taxes may be required based on MSRP of prizes, and Tax form 1099 will be provided upon winner's request
  • Entry into the contest is an official affidavit affirming entrant's eligibility and a publicity and liability release
  • All records relating to the contest will be maintained by AVerMedia for a minimum of three years after completion of the contest
  • AVerMedia employees and their family members are ineligible to participate
